In cooperation with the Croatian Monetary Institute, the Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative silver coin marking the 100th anniversary of the first airplane flight in Croatia, undertaken in a motor-driven airplane by Dragutin Novak (1892–1978) in Zagreb, on 22 and 23 June 1910.

Commemorative silver coins are made in a special minting technique that achieves the quality of a polished plate.
