In cooperation with the Croatian Monetary Institute, the Croatian National Bank issued, as part of a mini coin series, a commemorative gold coin marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, the inventor of the system for the blind.

Commemorative gold coins are made in a special minting technique that achieves the quality of a polished plate.
