Continuing the successful series of gold and silver collector coins \u201cAutochthonous Croatia\u201d the Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, is issuing the 2 ounce silver coin “Black Lizard”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The black lizard inhabits the island of Brusnik, which, according to local legend, was named for the harsh conditions where the sea and winds constantly ground and sharpened its rugged shores. This uninhabited island, characterized by its volcanic origin and porous limestone, has been a protected natural monument since 1951. It is home to numerous endemic species, one of which is the Brusnik lizard, thriving amidst the pristine sea and vibrant underwater landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new collector coin from the series “Autochthonous Croatia” pays tribute to the rich history and striking beauty of Brusnik Island, as well as the black lizard, one of its most notable inhabitants. This unique 2-ounce<\/strong> coin is struck in ultra high relief <\/strong>and issued in a limited series of only 400<\/strong> pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New owners will receive their “Black Lizard” collector coin in carefully designed thematic packaging developed in collaboration with Dig Studio<\/a> designers. The set includes a decorative box, capsule, booklet, and a certificate signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
