On 14 July this year<\/strong>, the Croatian National Bank will release into circulation a commemorative \u20ac2 coin “1100th Anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom and the Coronation of King Tomislav<\/strong>“. Coin exchanges for the public will begin on 8 September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design on the commemorative coin features King Tomislav, who was crowned King of Croatia in the year 925. That year marks the beginning of a highly significant 1100-year anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, carrying rich historical, cultural, and political meaning for the Republic of Croatia. A depiction of the King Tomislav monument was one of the central motifs on the reverse of the former 1000 kuna banknote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 400,000 coins<\/strong> will be issued, of which 382,400 will be available to the public for exchange. The national side of the coin was designed by Nikola Vudrag<\/strong>, Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture, and the coin was minted by the Croatian Mint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to its collector value, the commemorative euro coin also has the status of a circulation coin, meaning no fee will be charged for its exchange. Accordingly, this commemorative \u20ac2 coin will be available at face value \u2014 \u20ac2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citizens interested in obtaining the coin can apply between 14 and 31 July 2025<\/strong> (or until the allotted quantity is exhausted) via the CNB\u2019s Commemorative Coin Reservation System: https:\/\/prigodne-eurokovanice.hnb.hr\/<\/a>.
Each person may register interest to exchange up to five (5) coins<\/strong>, or until the available amount is depleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of 8 September 2025, based on a confirmed reservation, coins may be collected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • in person at the CNB cash desk (Croatian National Bank, Juri\u0161i\u0107eva 17, Zagreb) from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 and 15:30, free of charge;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • By post, delivered to an address within the Republic of Croatia, with postage costs paid in advance based on a pro forma invoice issued by the CNB;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • At Financial Agency (Fina) branches, subject to Fina\u2019s applicable service charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Commemorative 2-euro coins in special coincard packaging<\/strong> will be available for order in August<\/strong>, and commemorative 2-euro coins minted in Proof <\/strong>quality will be available for order in October 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
