THE GOLD COIN “150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF IVANA BRLI\u0106-MA\u017dURANI\u0106” IS SOLD OUT!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivana Brli\u0107-Ma\u017eurani\u0107. In commemoration of this milestone, the Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, has issued a one-ounce (31.103 grams) gold collector coin in the 100 euro denomination. The coin belongs to the category of investment gold and is available in a limited series of 150<\/strong><\/span> pieces. It is minted in 999.9\/1000 gold and comes in a box with a certificate<\/strong> signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.<\/p>\n

Ivana Brli\u0107-Ma\u017eurani\u0107 distinguished herself in the 19th century as a superb storyteller and author of numerous essays and travelogues. She captured the literary audience’s attention in 1913 with the novel “\u010cudnovate zgode \u0161egrta Hlapi\u0107a” (The Wonderful Adventures of Hlapich the Apprentice), and her most famous work, the collection of fairy tales “Pri\u010de iz davnine” (Tales from Long Ago), was published in 1916. These fairy tales, inspired by Slavic mythology and featuring characters like Kosjenka, Rego\u010d, Mali Tintilini\u0107, and many others, convey moral messages and life truths.<\/p>\n

The Croatian academic sculptor Kuzma Kova\u010di\u0107, known for his conceptual designs of Croatian kuna and lipa coins, endeavoured to capture a piece of the magic of her unforgettable work on collector coins. With great respect for the writer, he created a portrait of Ivana Brli\u0107-Ma\u017eurani\u0107 in his distinctive lyrical style, faithfully reflecting the spirit of her works. On the reverse side of the coin is a symbolic scene from her fairy tales “Tales from Long Ago”, with a large tree in the forest under which stands a mythical character, one of the many characters from her stories.<\/p>\n
