The 1 ounce gold coin “Pureti\u0107’s Power Block” is sold out!<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Continuing the series of collector coins “Croatian Innovators”, the Croatian National Bank in cooperation with the Croatian Mint, has issued the gold coin \u201cPureti\u0107’s Power Block”. The one ounce (31.103 grams) gold coin, in the 100 euro denomination, is available in a limited edition of only 100<\/strong><\/span> pieces. Minted in 999.9\/1000 gold belongs to the investment gold category and comes in a box with a certificate signed by the governor of the Croatian National Bank.<\/p>\n

Mario Purati\u0107 invented a revolutionary mechanical device for hauling nets, known as the “Power Block”. This invention enabled faster and more efficient hauling of fishing nets, reducing the physical strain on fishermen and increasing fishing productivity. Purati\u0107’s \u201cPower Block\u201d has been recognized and valued worldwide, making a lasting contribution to the global fishing community. Purati\u0107 patented the invention in 1954, and it began being used in Croatian fisheries in 1963.<\/p>\n

The conceptual design is by Croatian sculptor Jelena Mavri\u0107 Varga.<\/p>\n

On the obverse side of the coin, the central motif features a stylized depiction of Purati\u0107’s \u201cPower Block,\u201d while the reverse side is adorned with a symbolic representation of a fishing boat at sea, honoring Purati\u0107’s significant contribution to the fishing industry.<\/p>\n
