Continuing the \u201cCroatian Literature\u201d series, the Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, has issued a one-ounce<\/strong> (31.103 grams) gold collector coin in the 100 euro<\/strong> denomination, featuring the image of Marija Juri\u0107 Zagorka. Minted in 999.9\/1000 fine gold, the coin belongs to the category of investment gold. The \u201cMarija Juri\u0107 Zagorka\u201d gold collector coin is issued in a limited series of only 100<\/span> pieces<\/strong> and comes in a presentation box with a certificate<\/strong> signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.<\/p>\n

Marija Juri\u0107 Zagorka was not \u201cjust\u201d a writer. She was a revolutionary of pen and spirit: the first modern political reporter in Croatia, a tireless advocate for women\u2019s and civil rights, the founder of the first women\u2019s magazines, and a pioneer in researching women\u2019s history in Croatia. Her literary and social legacy remains indelible in the collective memory – not only as cultural heritage but also as a cornerstone of the modern fight for equality.<\/p>\n

The author of the coin\u2019s artistic design dedicated to Marija Juri\u0107 Zagorka is artist Jelena Mavri\u0107 Varga<\/strong><\/a>, who has faithfully conveyed the strength and determination of this remarkable woman through the portrait on the obverse. Marija Juri\u0107 Zagorka\u2019s name is written in script, symbolically emphasizing her literary work, while the reverse of the coin features the image of Lotr\u0161\u010dak Tower, a symbol of the city of Zagreb and a recurring setting in many of Zagorka\u2019s novels.<\/p>\n
