The Croatian Monetary Institute was founded on 23 April 1993 and the production was set off on 14 January 1994.
As of recently, the CMI continues to exist and operate under a new name:
the Croatian Mint (Croatian: Hrvatska kovnica novca d.o.o.).
New business activities under a new company name
The name change is part of the activities the Croatian Mint is implementing with the purpose of expanding the business on the domestic and international market, as well as a part of the preparation for the Euro.
