Continuing the “Croatian Literature” series, the Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, has issued a one-ounce (31.103 grams) gold collector coin in the 100 euro denomination, featuring the image of Marija Jurić Zagorka. Minted in 999.9/1000 fine gold, the coin belongs to the category of investment gold. The “Marija Jurić Zagorka” gold collector coin is issued in a limited series of only 100 pieces and comes in a presentation box with a certificate signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.

Marija Jurić Zagorka was not “just” a writer. She was a revolutionary of pen and spirit: the first modern political reporter in Croatia, a tireless advocate for women’s and civil rights, the founder of the first women’s magazines, and a pioneer in researching women’s history in Croatia. Her literary and social legacy remains indelible in the collective memory – not only as cultural heritage but also as a cornerstone of the modern fight for equality.

The author of the coin’s artistic design dedicated to Marija Jurić Zagorka is artist Jelena Mavrić Varga, who has faithfully conveyed the strength and determination of this remarkable woman through the portrait on the obverse. Marija Jurić Zagorka’s name is written in script, symbolically emphasizing her literary work, while the reverse of the coin features the image of Lotrščak Tower, a symbol of the city of Zagreb and a recurring setting in many of Zagorka’s novels.

Purchase and payment information

By confirming the order, it will be considered that the Buyer agrees with the price of the Product and other costs, and the Buyer will be sent a purchase quotation and/or an order confirmation via e-mail.

If the Buyer is paying by wire transfer, once the quotation is delivered to the Buyer by e-mail, the price indicated on the quotation is valid for 2 hours from the moment of delivery of the quotation.

The Buyer is obliged to send a confirmation of payment to the Seller within 2 hours from the delivery of the quotation to the e-mail address of the Seller: [email protected].

In case the Buyer does not deliver the confirmation of payment to the Seller within 2 hours from the delivery of the quotation, the price indicated on the quotation is no longer valid and the Buyer is obliged to place a new order.
