The Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, has issued a one-ounce gold coin (31.103 grams) with a nominal value of 100 euro as part of the “Croatian Innovators” series. The coin dedicated to Slavoljub Penkala is available in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. It is made of the highest purity gold, 999.9/1000 and falls into the category of investment gold. Each coin comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.

Slavoljub Penkala was one of the most notable Croatian inventors of the early 20th century. He worked in the fields of engineering, chemistry, and aviation, and patented over eighty inventions. He is best known for the mechanical pencil that bears his name – the “penkala” – an invention that became a part of everyday use and remains recognisable to this day.

The design of this coin is the work of Italian artist Ilaria Longo. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Slavoljub Penkala, while the reverse highlights a magnifying glass emphasising the tip of the penkala, from which elegant cursive script flows – a symbolic representation of the fusion of technical ingenuity and aesthetic refinement.

Purchase and payment information

By confirming the order, it will be considered that the Buyer agrees with the price of the Product and other costs, and the Buyer will be sent a purchase quotation and/or an order confirmation via e-mail.

If the Buyer is paying by wire transfer, once the quotation is delivered to the Buyer by e-mail, the price indicated on the quotation is valid for 2 hours from the moment of delivery of the quotation.

The Buyer is obliged to send a confirmation of payment to the Seller within 2 hours from the delivery of the quotation to the e-mail address of the Seller: [email protected].

In case the Buyer does not deliver the confirmation of payment to the Seller within 2 hours from the delivery of the quotation, the price indicated on the quotation is no longer valid and the Buyer is obliged to place a new order.
