King Tomislav’s figure adorns the new coin

Commemorating the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, the new issue of collector coins features the image of King Tomislav, the most renowned ruler of medieval Croatia, as interpreted by the talented Croatian artist Nikola Vudrag.

Tomislav was the first Croatian ruler to bear the royal title, with his coronation in 925 AD confirmed by Pope John X. During his reign, Croatia expanded territorially and achieved military stability, strengthening its position among European states. For this reason, King Tomislav’s legacy remains deeply embedded in Croatian identity, with numerous streets, squares, and institutions throughout Croatia bearing his name.

The issue includes gold and silver coins in various denominations.
The gold coins are available in three nominal values: 200 € (weight 100 grams), 100 € (weight 1 ounce), and 10 € (weight 1/16 ounce).
The silver coins are available in two nominal values: 6 € (weight 2 ounce) and 4 € (weight 1 ounce).

The coins have been minted by the Croatian Mint in the highest Proof quality.
The 200€ gold coin is limited to only 100 pieces. The 100€ gold coin, weighing 1 ounce (31.103 grams), is limited to 300 pieces. The 6€ silver coin will be issued in a limited series of 500 pieces.

The collection is elevated by thematic packaging designed by Izvorka Jurić from Dig Studio. The most valuable gold coins are presented in prisma and signature boxes, while the 1/16 oz gold coin and silver coins are packaged in elegantly designed standard boxes with a matching outer sleeve. The packaging is crafted from selected natural materials, including laminated paper and olive wood veneer. Each coin comes with a numbered certificate and an informational booklet, enhancing the product’s authenticity and value.

The “King Tomislav” issue will be available for purchase on the Croatian Mint’s web store and through authorized sales partners starting March 20th at 9:00 AM. To ensure availability for as many of our registered customers as possible, the maximum purchase quantity is limited per buyer.
