New Release – Halubje Bell Ringers in gold and silver

Continuing the successful series of gold and silver coins “Croatian Heritage”, the Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, is issuing coins featuring the motif of Halubje Bell Ringers.

Throughout history, Halubje Bell Ringers were strong young men who roamed villages, introducing themselves and showcasing their strength in search of a life partner. At that time of year, villagers eagerly welcomed them into their homes, as their arrival marked the beginning of spring land cultivation and livestock preparation for grazing.

To further honour this tradition, the Croatian Mint has minted an exclusive collection of coins in three variations: a 1 oz gold coin (€100), a 1 oz silver coin (€4), and a 5 oz silver coin (€8).
The 1 oz gold and 5 oz silver coins are enriched with the vibrant colors of the Halubje Bell Ringers.

The design of these collector editions is the work of the talented artist Chiara Principe, who, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint and representatives of the Halubajski Zvončari Association, has created coins that uniquely capture the strength, rhythm, and symbolism of this ancient custom.

The “Halubje Bell Ringers” gold and silver collector coins will be available for purchase through the Croatian Mint’s webshop from February 18, 2025.
