The total issued quantity of the silver collector coin in the 4 euro denomination is limited at 1,000 items.
The Island of Susak, located in the northern Adriatic, is renowned for its unique geological structure, shallow sandy coves and rich cultural heritage. This small island, known for its yellowish dust, features a distinctive traditional costume that is as vibrant as it is short! It is considered the shortest traditional costume in Europe and possibly the world. Young women on Susak wear short skirts in bright colours paired with pink or orange woollen stockings, making this attire exceptionally striking.
The design is signed by our celebrated sculptor Paula Banić Vudrag, who has depicted the cartographic appearance of the Island of Susak and Cape Darto with its chapel on the obverse of the coin. The reverse features the motif of the festive Susak traditional costume.
