The Croatian Mint has issued the first Croatian official set of euro coins for 2023 in the proof quality. The set includes denominations of euro coins and euro cents circulation coins with the year of minting 2023 in the highest quality.

The official set of Croatian euro coins for 2023 is available in a limited series of only 500 pieces, representing one of the most renowned Mediterranean tourist destinations in Europe – Dubrovnik.

The history of the city of Dubrovnik dates back to the seventh century when it was founded by refugees from Epidaurum (Ragusa Vecchia). The city’s progress historically relied on maritime trade; as the capital of the maritime Republic of Dubrovnik, it reached a high level of development, particularly during the 15th and 16th centuries when it became known for its wealth and skilled diplomacy. At the same time, Dubrovnik became a cradle of Croatian literature.

In 1979, the Old Town of Dubrovnik was listed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, recognizing its extraordinary medieval architecture and fortifications.

Dubrovnik, as a gem of architecture and a flagship of Croatian tourism, is evident in the number of visitors every year, especially since 2005. It is also an increasingly popular filming location, with its walls and buildings serving as the backdrop for some of the most popular modern movies and series.

The euro coin set comes in a wooden box with a numbered certificate signed by the director of the Croatian Mint.
