The Croatian National Bank will on 15 September 2023 release into circulation the first commemorative 2-euro coin “Member of the euro area” to commemorate the introduction of the euro as the monetary unit of Croatia on 1 January 2023.
The coin, designed by the sculptor Nikola Vudrag and minted by the Croatian Mint, will be issued in the amount of 250,000 pieces.
The euro coin will be available for purchase as of 15 September 2023 at the counters of banks and at the CNB’s cash desk. A maximum of five (5) euro coins per single transaction/person can be exchanged in the first weeks following the issuance in order to make it available to the largest possible number of Croatian citizens.
The Croatian Mint enables citizens to purchase coins in a coin card pack, for which pre-orders will be available from September 15, 2023 on the website of the Croatian Mint, with a limit of a maximum of ten (10) coin card per transaction/person.
