The Croatian National Bank, in collaboration with the Croatian Mint, is issuing a new collector coins dedicated to the most numerous indigenous horse breed in Croatia – the Croatian Coldbood.
The „Croatian Coldblood“ collector issue, part of the „Autochthonous Croatia“ series, will be available for purchase on October 23rd from 9:00 a.m.!

The Croatian Coldblood is a native horse breed that has been raised for centuries in Croatia, particularly around Sisak and other lowland areas. It was developed by crossing local mares with heavy draft breeds such as the Noriker, Ardennes, and Percheron, aiming to create a strong, resilient, and calm horse suited for work in agriculture and forestry.
This breed is known for its sturdy build – broad chest, powerful legs, and a muscular body designed for demanding physical tasks. The Croatian Coldblood is included in the Register of Native and Endangered Domestic Animal Breeds of Croatia, helping to support its breeding and preservation.

The coins minted in Brilliant Uncirculated quality are available in four versions:
The author of the design for the collector coins dedicated to the most numerous indigenous horse breed is Nikola Vudrag, who depicts the horse motif in detail through two powerful images—the head that conveys strength and dignity, and the silhouette that fully captures power and the character of the Croatian cold-blooded horse.

The “Croatian Coldblood” issue will be available for purchase through the official online store of the Croatian Mint starting October 23rd at 9:00 a.m., as well as from authorized sales partners.
